We are continually implementing policies to address freight issues and improve network conditions. Two of the primary initiatives are the Comprehensive Freight Improvement Database and the Freight Roadway Design Considerations.
The Comprehensive Freight Improvement Database (CFID) is a multifaceted database containing a rich array of attribute and spatial information about issues affecting goods movement in the Tampa Bay Region.
This document expands upon concepts presented in the Tampa Bay Regional Strategic Freight Plan and is one of the implementation actions recommended in the Plan. It provides ideas and suggestions to help roadway designers and transportation planners select designs that balance goods movement and livability, within the parameters established by FDOT manuals and policies.
